Full Greenfinish

FULL GREENFINISH is an innovative, fully electric IT system equipped with low-temperature drying ovens designed for the upgrading of full bovine hides for automotive and upholstery applications.

FULL GREENFINISH is an eco-friendly solution capable of processing hides up to 3,400 mm in width without using spray techniques, thus eliminating water consumption and minimizing energy usage. The system may use embossing rollers already available in tanneries. The rollers are protected during the production process by an ultra-thin, highly deformable and fully recyclable film. This film prevents adhesion between the leather and the rollers, ensuring smooth transfer through the production line while protecting the hides from dust and impurities.
This patented innovation, developed by Costa Srl and in use for over two years in a leading tannery in Arzignano, guarantees uniform finishing free from surface defects, with perfectly embossed grain, significantly improving the quality of lower-grade leather.

Leather joined to the surface of the protective film

Another key advantage of FULL GREENFINISH is the reduced surface loss compared to traditional finishing methods. This is achieved through the leather’s adherence to the film during low-temperature drying and subsequent stabilization, which minimizes shrinkage.

Detachment of the leather from the protective film

This eco-friendly and efficient process, developed by Gemata SpA and Costa Srl with their extensive experience in the finishing industry, ensures high-quality leather with lower energy use, reduced operating costs, and zero emissions.
Production speed can reach up to 14 m/min, depending on the length of the ovens.
